Al Sharpton is a well known civil rights activist. He has been instrumental in the fight for social justice for decades. Sharpton highlights national causes through the National Action Network. Sharpton has been a long time advocate for gay rights and he preaches for more understanding of the issue within the African American community.

Sharpton has become more centrist in his approach in recent years. He is a big supporter of most of the work being done by the Obama Administration.
